The 5G/Beyond 5G PPP Architecture WG can look back to a continuity of various editions of workshops and special session. It has regularly organised workshops and special sessions to present the latest Architecture View on 5G, e.g., 5GArch workshops at EuCNC 2016 and EuCNC 2019, and 5G Architecture towards Verticals special session at EuCNC 2018. Particularly, this workshop proposal inherits the spirit of the Workshop organised during IEEE 5G World Forum 2021. The workshop entitled “Highlights of the 5G PPP Arch. White Paper V4.0: A European View on 5G Architecture and Beyond”, was organised as an online event in two parts to serve the different timezones. The workshop aimed at providing a comprehensive view of the current architectural effort towards 6G.
The 5G/Beyond 5G PPP Architecture Working Group (WG) has issued several white papers; the latest version thereof placed the focus on architectural support for vertical industries. Currently, the 5G/Beyond 5G PPP Architecture WG focuses on the system evolution towards 6G and, representing the European view on the forthcoming system architecture, drives the organisation of this workshop.
The workshop is technically co-sponsored by the 5G PPP - 5G Architecture work group, projects Hexa-X, 6G BRAINS, DAEMON and others.
