Workshop on Sustainable Future Ultra Dense Networks

To be held in Globecom 2022 - IEEE Global Communications Conference

4–8 December 2022 // Rio de Janeiro, Brazil // Hybrid Conference

Accelerating the Digital Transformation through Smart Communications

The Workshop is inviting contributions from European innovative training networks, as TeamUp5G, PAINLESS, or IoTalentum, where, apart from UDNs, artificial intelligence and game-changing performance metrics will be explored to motivate the adoption of energy-autonomous infrastructure-less networks and virtualization by investigating pioneer green, energy-autonomous portable network nodes which are self-subsistent and limitlessly-scalable, to satisfy future demands with minimal infrastructure. Besides, contributions are also welcome from research on, e.g., testing advanced 5G use with unmanned aerial vehicles (5G! Drones), an Industrial Leadership project on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), or 5G-PPP EVOLVED-5G project, among many other international or European Commission H2020 and Horizon Europe projects.

Hot topics and keynotes

UAV-enabled wireless-powered mobile edge computing system (Rose Hu, Utah State Univ.), integrating sensing and communications (Christos Masouros, UCL) and spectrum management in energy-efficient UDNs with distributed antenna systems (Ana Garcia Armada, UC3M).
